Leadership Position Form
New requirements approved by the committee (September 2025)
• Effective 9/1/25, Troop 48 will define an “Active Scout” as a scout who attends 50% or more Troop meetings. This includes frequency of meetings as well as length of time attended during the meetings. As an example, a Scout who shows up to only 50% of the scheduled meetings and then leaves halfway through the meetings he attends will have a 25% activity level and will be considered an inactive Scout. As a reminder, Scouts must be active in the Troop in order to qualify for rank advancements. Please see your Scout Handbook for each rank’s specific time length of activity needed.
At this time, campout attendance, while highly encouraged, will not be included in the activity level for Scouts in Troop 48.
• Starting with the September ‘25 elections, Troop 48 is requiring an activity level of 75% to hold any leadership position outside of Senior Patrol Leader (SPL) and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader (ASPL). SPL and ASPL leadership positions will require a 90% activity level. Troop 48 is a Scout lead troop, and Scout Leadership attendance is needed in order for the Troop to function. If a Scout’s attendance falls below the requirements above, then the Scout will lose their position.
